“Went as a family of four from Australia on a 10 day tour of Sri Lanka. Our guide Priyantha was very accommodating and spoke good English. He ensured that we were safe and comfortable at all times and was never late. Both the transportation and accommodation were very safe and comfortable to stay in, except for one which ran out of running water during our stay. We visited a wide variety of amazing (quite touristy) places, our favourite was Galle. We definitely recommend as a family of four!”

“We truly enjoyed our stay exploring Colombo, Nuwara Eliya and Ella with Anas. He shared interesting stories, facts about history, culture and the places we visited which made the trip fun and enjoyable. Anas looked after us so well with water, snacks, souvenier which made the journey comfortable. We appreciate that Anas accommodated our requests with schedules, the places we wanted to see and random stops along the way to take pictures.”
“We had put together the trip individually with a German travel agency focusing on national parks. On site Detroves took us over in Colombo at the airport. From there we went via Wilpattu, Sigiriya, Minneriya, Gal Oya, Horton's Plains, Sinharaja and Yala once around a large part of the country. And "by the way" - here is everything!!! Sea anyway but southern fruits, rice further down, tea at medium altitudes and cabbage, carrots, leeks, potatoes and and and... further up the country. Fascinating!!! Neal was our German speaking guide and Roytar was at the wheel (sorry if I misspelled it) The two are just great!! Very warm and extremely competent. No matter what we asked for, a solution was always found. Very often we stopped at the side of the road to stock up on fresh fruit. Whenever we wanted to take a picture...no problem. Neal always helped check in and provided us with the most important information. As always on such trips not everything goes smoothly (sometimes a jeep safari is cancelled because the paths are softened or the roads are in a non-navigable state due to bad weather) but our two companions always found alternatives (e.g. instead of a jeep safari then just a boat safari - also great). On the failed safari Neal immediately took care of the refund of the excursion price...not first home and then complicated through the travel agency a reclaim...the next day the cancelled excursion "cash" was paid out...that's how it pleases. In our minivan we had more than ample space and it was always clean (no idea where the two always found a way to vacuum and wash). Air conditioning went perfectly. Too bad that guests and guide were always accommodated separately, a few nice evenings together dinner would have been nice. Overall an unforgettable trip, we can only recommend Detroves Travels...”

“6 days tour of Sri Lanka, we have seen some of the highlights. Our guide and driver Saman picked us up at the hotel in Colombo and already told us a lot of information about the history of Sri Lanka in excellent German during the trip to the Dambula cave rocks. Our journey continued with a visit to a village where we were allowed to taste Sinhalese cuisine and help with the preparation. The first night we spent in Sigiriya and climbed the Lion Rock and visited the ancient royal city of Polunawaru. Saman organized us each time a guide who explained the sight to us in detail. Other stops were Minneriya National Park, where we experienced the first elephants up close, Kandy with the famous Tooth Temple and a cultural dance performance. From there we continued to the highlands to Nuwara Eliya for the tea plantations, with sightseeing and tasting. A highlight for us was the early visit to Horton Plains National Park to be “at the end of the world”. Great hike! The next destination Ella we reached after a 3 hour train ride through the highlands and at the station Saman was already waiting for us to take us to the next hotel. On the last day of the round trip we did a jeep safari through the Udawalawe National Park and were able to take many great wildlife shots. Conclusion: In these six, not exhausting days, we got a great impression of Sri Lanka, the nature, the many shades of green have inspired us. The organization of Detroves Travel was impeccable and our guide Saman left nothing to be desired. On the way he always provided us with water and fresh fruit, gave tips, for example, where best to exchange money or buy spices. We are now ending the holiday with an Ayurveda treatment and are happy that we were able to get to know this beautiful country.”
“Detroves has provided us with a very good chauffeur. That was very beneficial for the tour. Top. The choice of hotels was unfortunately not optimal, honestly rather disappointing. Only one of a total of 3 hotels has met the official rating (stars,etc). Detroves should send out test persons for breakfast (meals) room tests (rooms).”

“Cannot recommend this company enough! We had the pleasure of having Ajith as our guide and we are so grateful we did! Every issue we had was solved with no problems. The tour was incredible and Ajith’s knowledge on all things Sri Lanka meant there wasn’t a question we had that he couldn’t answer. He did everything he could to make sure we were comfortable and had the best time ever. We will really miss him!”

“We made a beautiful Sri Lankan tour and then attached 4days beach holiday. The care and planning by the travel agency was good, the guide and driver helpful and absolutely reliable. Of course, the quality of the individual hotels was different, but everywhere everyone was friendly. Beautiful and diverse landscapes, very great biodiversity in flora and fauna, great cultural richness and immersion in Buddhism.”

“We had a great 17 days in Sri Lanka! One of our friends had travelled with Detroves before and recommended them to us when we were planning our trip. We couldn't have been more grateful. From the planning of our trip- very responsive and were able to add any activities that we requested (including our last minute request to go to an international cricket game). All accommodation they booked for us were clean, had beautiful views and friendly service. Our driver Sarath, was very knowledgeable about his country and always happy to answer our questions. Couldn't recommend this company, and Sarath, more for a private tour, that has allowed us to 'plan it our way' and still see all this amazing country has to offer. Thanks Carly & Tim..”

“Our driver and guide Charles Fernando accompanied us on our honeymoon trip through Sri Lanka. He is very friendly and always in a good mood. Culturally, we were able to learn a lot about Sri Lanka in 7 days. He knows a lot about the geography and is easy to talk to in English.”
