“This tour was fabulous, thanks to our knowledgeable and experienced driver and tour guide, Ajith. Ajith knew all the right people along the way, and provided in-depth history at all of the locations and sites on this tour. The only thing I’d change is the duration, I think we needed another day or two to really soak it in. 7 days was a bit rushed. There is no doubt that when we go back to see the rest of the country, we will be requesting Ajith as our tour guide, and would recommend him to any fellow travellers looking to head to this beautiful country.”

“15 days on land touring Sri Lanka and two night excursion to Maldives. Had our private bus for 8 with excellent driver, tour guide, and his assistant. Always polite, smiling to greet us, dependable, and our tour guide shared his vast knowledge of the countries history. Toured Buddhist temples, ruins, stayed in five star hotels, ate our way through the country with incredible buffets presented beautifully,. Received relsxing massages after a long and physically challenging day. Train ride through countryside viewing acres and acres of tea estates . Family parties arranged complete with catering, bands, and dancing. We were blessed with sunshine and a few welcomed showers. Time of year to travel there was very good. Day with rescued elephant to bathe, feed, ride and receive shower from was a highlight. Snorkeling in turquoise waters with white coral beaches was over the top enjoyable. The Sri Lankan people were gracious, kind, and had the most beautiful smiles. So much more to share but will wrap it up with highly recommending Detroves for a fabulous travel tour experience! “We have arranged for Detroves Tours to arrange our group's (8 of us) vacation trip to Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Our authorized tour guide, Mr. Anns, met us upon our arrival in Colombo, gave us a briefing for the day, and drove us to the hotel. The fifteen-day tour of the island and Maldives began the following day. He provided us with the history of every location we visited, both before and after. The helper was extremely good, and the bus driver was quite cautious. I heartily advise everyone to utilize Detroves. They are dependable and sincere. “I traveled to Sri Lanka for 14 days with my sister and 7 other friends. I have never been treated with more caring, professional, and knowledgeable individuals. a bus picked our group up from the airport as soon as we arrived. the tour guide, Anus, gave us special water bottles and immediately explained what to expect while there. He, his assistant, and, driver were withus during our entire trip.They were each positive and helpful, especially with me. I have rheumatoid arthritis and they helped me climb many steps while visting Temples and stayed with me when I could not climb! We visted many Buddhist temples and learned the history of each from Anus. we stayed in the finest and most gorgeous hotels I have ever seen. Detroves travel set up wonderful safaris, had us ride, bathe, and receive baths with rescue elephants, ride a train to see acres of tea estates, and so much of this beautiful country. we were able to spend 2 nights in MALDIVES in a beautiful place facing the tuquoise water. we also had the most relaxing massages ever. I have traveled many places in the world, but this tour was the greatest and most wonderful experience I have ever had.Everything was first class and the people were the most wonderful people I have ever met! “Outstanding service, Booking a 15 day tour in Sri Lanka + 5 days in Maldives for our honeymoon was such a smooth process, we received plenty of advise and recommendations, they adjusted everything to fit our needs and timing. Welcoming at Colombo airport was impecable and punctual. They also had prepared a welcome pack very useful. Car absolutely comfortable, driver very professional, reliable and punctual during the whole tour. Available filtered water all the time. Our guide gave us a unique experience during our time in Sri Lanka, not only visiting the main attractions but having pleasant conversations and having a touch of the real life in the country. Passionate for his job, his professionalism and deep knowledge made our tour very special. The accommodations arranged by Detroves were above our expectations, high standard hotels, comfortable facilities and excellent service. Among all the other tours we came across during our journey, we felt we had the best guide/driver/car and itinerary. Highly recommend Detroves to anyone traveling to Sri Lanka + Maldives”

“We have just returned from a 9-day trip to Sri Lanka and 6 days to the Maldives developed with the Detroves Travels agency. The organization was impeccable from start to finish. The team listened to us from the start to build this circuit together. We would like to particularly thank Pasindu Soysa for his availability and valuable advice. All our exchanges by email were in French and the responses were always very detailed (price of entry to the sites, etc.). We trusted the agency with the choice of hotels (3* range) and we did not regret it. The rooms were always spacious and air-conditioned and the meals delicious. But the success of this trip also depends largely on our French-speaking driver-guide Ismail who made us discover his wonderful country and understand its culture (history, Buddhism, etc.). He also knew how to meet our expectations during the journey in s stopping at our request to take photos and taste local products (durian, king coconut, etc.). In short, we loved this trip and we highly recommend this agency.”

“My mum was born in Sri Lanka in 1947. She hadn’t been back since she was 10. Mum was keen to take her three daughters on a journey of her childhood as a legacy. Patrick our driver was amazing with his care of ‘Mama’ and his assistance to us. He was there to help get Mum in and out of the van, stayed with mum in the van when we went off trekking, told us vital local information when needed, interpreted when buying pharmacy goods, found cushions to buy on the side of the road within minutes of asking for them, found clean washrooms, stopped to satisfy iced coffee hits, organised tuk-tuks and generally made our itinerary run smoothly. Itinerary itself was fantastic from a site-seeing POV. However, the time to get places took almost double the time indicated. We may not have been as ambitious in travel between places had we known we’d be spending almost whole days in the van. Overall we had a wonderful trip. Nostalgic. Family focussed. Time. Some feedback for the van: * Could use USB ports for patrons to charge devices. * Could have a portable drinks fridge to keep drinks cold during long travel days.”

“Duration: 13 days Lodging: Blue Water Hotel Wadduwa, Earl's Regency Kandy, Tea Factory Hotel Nuwara Eliya, Heritance Negombo. Experiences: Bentota River Safari, bird watching in the Sinharaja National Forest, exploring five waterfalls in the outskirts of Kandy, and swimming at one and an 11km hike on the Horton Plains. It was a hurriedly planned trip back home to Sri Lanka to celebrate the life of my dad, who passed away earlier this year here in the States. Given our family's naturalistic inclinations for wonder and beauty, it was crucial to go with a tour company that embraced the same as their mission. Given the tight schedule and all the planned events, lodging, transport, and tours, the trip had to be meticulously curated. Shaluki from Detroves Travels made the magic happen and must have sprinkled pixie dust when we came across Sri Lanka's rare bird, the Serendib Scoop Owl, which was described as a new species in 2004 in the jungles of the Sinharaja Forest. On that trip, we saw eight other endemic birds. Wipul and Ranga were our guides making sure we were well taken care of during our many transfers and very long day trips. All the hotel staff went out of their way to ensure our relaxation and enjoyment. I highly recommend staying at these properties. ”
