“We conducted a 19-day individual tour in Sri Lanka. We had also booked a German-speaking guide, his name was Pradeep. He was the driver and guide for us the whole trip and really made our holiday special. Pradeep took great care of us from the airport pick up to the start and then back to the airport - thanks to Pradeep for that. He explained a lot to us in special places, also just stopped at the side street and bought fresh fruit/coconuts for us. Pradeep is a very nice person and a safe driver. The traffic in SriLanka is already very special with many different road users (people, bicycles, mopeds, tukTuks, vans, buses, vans, dogs, monkeys, cows - all distributed together on the roads - but the traffic works. The people there are very friendly and accommodating. We can’t really say what we liked the most, as we put together our extensive tour individually for us, which was just GREAT. We can give a 100% recommendation from our experiences to the Detroves team and especially the Pradeep guide, just keep it up. Pradeep, thank you very much especially to you for our nearly 3 weeks together in Sri Lanka, was a great time!”

“We had a wonderful 6 days experience in Sri Lanka. It was our first time here and our driver and guide Chavindra made in truly special. From the pick-up at the airport to the drop-off at our last hotel he cared for us in an extraordinary matter and showed and explained us everything about his stunning country. He is a very safe driver, he stopped at every place we wanted to see and always had special ideas for our needs. We couldn’t say what was the best…Sigiriya with its lion rock, Kandy with visiting the Perahera, the train ride to Ella or hiking in Horton Plains…each point was awesome! We give our 100% recommendation to detroves and our driver Chavindra - thanks for our week together !!”

“We were very happy with the organisation of our twelve days private tour in Sri Lanka. It was well organised by Detroves. At the beginning of the tour we got a call from Detroves if we were fine. The intinerary included hot spots of cultural importance and nature highlights. We highly appreciated our driver and guide Chavindra, who is a safe driver and has extensive knowledge of the country, the society and culture as well as the history of Sri Lanka. He speaks excellent English. We highly recommend Detroves as local travel agency.”

“We had a great time with Mahinda as our guide and Sanjeewa as our driver. Through Mahinda we learned a lot about this wonderful country. He organized everything perfectly and also made all our last-minute changes as a family with children possible. Thanks to Sanjeewa, we always felt safe even on the narrowest roads. “On my ten-day tour with a private guide, I not only did the planned sightseeing in 9 cities, but whenever there was an exciting place, a great plant or an animal by the wayside, we could stop and look. I have learned a lot about the country, the people and life in Sri Lanka and my guide has also conveyed all this great. He has had the best contacts in every city, so it was always moving forward quickly and we were able to reach our next destination on time.”

“We had a very varied trip with a lot of culture, nature and insight into the way of life of the people of Sri Lanka. We were most impressed by the landscape and magnificent views, e.g. from Adams Peak, Sigirya and the Horton plains, one of our absolute highlights. The tour was so relaxed especially by our driver and guide Chavindra Vaithiyanathan, because we really didn’t have to worry about anything. Chavi knows a lot about the places visited, country and culture, speaks super English, is a very good driver and above all a very warm and friendly person with whom we would immediately go back on tour. All in all, we had very positive experiences with Detroves and can absolutely recommend it.”

“A fantastic whistle stop trip with highlights including the safaris at Yala National Park and the train ride from Nani Ora to Ella. The accommodation was great and a number of special touches included as the company had passed on that we were celebrating our honeymoon. Our driver Sarath was very knowledgeable and very helpful throughout the trip. We look forward to returning to Sri Lanka again in the future.”
