“We searched for the best travel agency in Sri Lanka and quickly came across Detroves Travels. We didn't book through a European travel agency, but booked directly, as this is ALWAYS the better option! We were not disappointed! Vagesan always responded immediately and answered our questions in great detail, so that we could work with him to find the perfect trip for us. Our driver/guide Chavindra was a stroke of luck. He was funny, had a wealth of knowledge about Sri Lanka and its customs and history, and drove extremely safely and calmly. The car was in perfect condition – exactly as anyone would want it to be and very spacious, so that suitcases and all extra bags could easily be accommodated (we were traveling with them for 17 days). Detroves Travels is very well organized and you can immediately see that they are professionals who have a lot of experience in this field. We would ONLY book with them again, as we were completely satisfied with the service. We can only recommend them. Fantastic! Such an amazing trip!”

“We had experienced a wonderful 19-day trip through the beautiful country of Sri Lanka with many great impressions, perfectly organized. Our German speaking tour guide put a lot of effort into it. And our driver Sunjeewa has always chauffeured us safely and with an extremely pleasant driving style. We were very happy about the always perfectly clean vehicle and the daily new flowers. “Our trip was perfectly organized and everything worked out. Detroves took care of everything, also called during the tour and asked if everything was okay. We were traveling with our driver Dillu, who is a fast and safe driver and gave us a great insight into the country and society. Dillu was always on time and responded flexibly when needed. We would not do the optional offers of the wood carving and the spice garden again, as these were sales events. Great was the great Dillu organized attendance of the ceremony at the Tooth Temple in Kandy.”

“Couples tour of 2 weeks perfectly organized. Very satisfied with visits to monuments, cities and markets, breathtaking scenery, safaris, tea plantations etc. The agency perfectly met our expectations in terms of pace, interests, search for small quiet hotels and especially the choice of driver guide. We have been satisfied beyond our expectations on this point. Nalaka was always very punctual, calm, considerate, smiling, warm and above all very interesting. Our many questions always had a relevant answer. He was able to adapt and find solutions when, for example, the weather became capricious to invert activities and thus allow us to enjoy safaris in the best possible conditions. We really felt safe on the road thanks to his great mastery of Sri Lankan driving which can sometimes be a bit surprising or even frightening! Enjoyed every moment in his company. The choice of the 11 hotels was satisfactory with 2 hotels that we found truly exceptional by our standards of calm, nature and comfort. Many thanks to the agency for choosing Savanagama and Waraka Udawalawe. We return delighted by the discovery of this fabulous country with its many riches: heritage, landscapes, wildlife, cuisine and the benevolence of the inhabitants. All the ingredients to build fabulous memories! We will definitely recommend the agency”

“We are a couple in our 60s and have just completed a fabulous 15 Day tour with Detroves Travel/ Exotic Asian Tours. We have had a fantastic time .At all times our needs , wants and wishes have been accommodated. We had a wonderful, caring, kind and knowledgable guide Anas, who was not only extremely informative; but went ‘ over and above’ to ensure our every need was met. At all times we felt safe and secure knowing that each adventure would be and experience to remember. Some of the highlights included; the elephant orphanage, but there are also so many other notable experiences, including; an authentic cooking class, the train ride, 9 Arch bridge, the amazing architecture, historical sites, the Yala national park, the Botanical gardens in Kandy and fantastic food and people. If you choose to do a tour with Detroves do not hesitate to ask for Anas. My husband is a ‘ golf tragic’ and Anas was able to secure a short tour around Nuwara Eliya Golf club. The accomodation at all destinations was clean, tidy and comfortable. brekkie was included and very substantial and delicious. Thanks for a fabulous fun filled 15 days in Sri Lanka. “It really is a wonderful tour - you see so much in a short time. The nature Nationalparks Minneriya & Yala and all the other places were exceptionally beautiful. I really enjoyed everything - my guide Nikki took care of everything and help me by all things. He let me try all kinds of fruits and local food. He was very friendly and helpful best guide i ever had - a compliment 👏 Can only recommend! A very nice experience will be the rest of my life in a good remember”

“We took a 10-day private tour with a German-speaking guide. Sam was very competent and spoke good German. We learned a lot about the country and people through him and completed a very interesting program. What we noticed were the sometimes inflated prices in the country. In a few accommodations there has been some lack of professionalism, but the people are very friendly.”
